Moving From Cure to Prevention Could Save the NHS Billions

Governments in developed countries have a problem: people are living longer. That sounds nice, but it’s also putting unprecedented pressure on public health services. Governments are having to spend a higher portion of overall spending on healthcare with each passing year.

Some people think that AI could help with this. Over Christmas, researchers at the Tony Blair Institute thinktank published a paper arguing that AI could sift through existing health records to target citizens with preventive therapies before they end up in hospital.
