Experts: AI Will Make Life More Convenient But Less
Pleasurable
Daily tasks will get easier, while our personal
relationships, privacy, mental health, and spiritual lives will suffer,
according to an Elon University report on the impact of AI by 2040.
How climate tech companies in Asia measure the impact of their work
To answer this big question, we reached out to climate tech
companies in the Asia Pacific and get them to explain the details
AI
‘Disinformation on steroids’: is the US prepared for AI’s influence on the election?
Robocalls of President Biden already confused primary voters in New Hampshire – but measures to curb the technology could be too little too late.
AI could make the four-day workweek inevitable
Working four days while getting paid for five is a dream for
many employees. Yet the dramatic shifts in the pandemic-era workplace have
turned this once unfathomable idea into a reality for some workers. And as more
global data emerges, an increasing number of companies are courting the
approach after positive trial-run results across countries including the UK,
Iceland, Portugal and more.
CYBERSECURITY
Why We've Removed Our Wyze Home Security Recommendations at
CNET
A slew of security issues have plagued Wyze home security
devices in recent years. The latest breaches in 2024 have caused us to remove Wyze product picks for now.
Face off: Attackers are stealing biometrics to access victims’ bank accounts
Biometrics have been touted as the ultimate credential —
because after all, faces, fingerprints and irises are unique to every human

WOMEN IN TECH
OpenAI sales leader says ‘we see ourselves as AGI sherpas’
For OpenAI head of sales Aliisa Rosenthal, there is no
disconnect between the company’s lofty mission to “ensure that artificial
general intelligence (AGI) benefits all of humanity,” and her team’s day-to-day
sales, marketing, partnership and customer success efforts, including
implementing ChatGPT Enterprise at over 260 companies and 150,000 employee users.
CAREER
The highest-paid IT skills — and why you need them on your
resume
Not surprisingly, generative AI skills topped a list of
capabilities companies are seeking in new hires. The top 10 highest paid skills
in tech can help workers earn up to 47% more — and the top skill among them is
generative artificial intelligence (genAI), according to a new report from
employment website Indeed and other sources.

A 3D-printed titanium ‘metamaterial’ design solved a longtime engineering issue
These lattice structures could one day strengthen bone
implants and rocket parts.
Cellular structures made from metal alloys could strengthen
everything from bone implants to rocket parts—if they didn’t keep cracking
under pressure. Researchers have so far spent years attempting to solve for
uneven weight distribution issues across these artificial “metamaterials” to
little success. As detailed in a recent study published in Advanced Materials,
however, a team at Australia’s RMIT University appears to have finally figured
out the solution after drawing inspiration from plants and coral, with some
help from a cutting-edge 3D-printing tool.
